We started our commission
by offering the City to use half of the lot that we had to generate
different public spaces creating links between the remarkable elements
of the site:
1- a mineral entrance place reveals the 16 century tower, the ramparts
and the East facade of the project of the Tourist Information Center.
2- a parvis links the Court of Justice with the South facade of the
project of the Tourist Information Center.
3- a vegetal place sets the stage of the West entrance of the project
of the Tourist Information Center and connects with the other place
of the city.
4- the walk along the rampart is extended to visually enter throw the
North facade of the project of the Tourist Information Center. We found
it necessary to propose these future landscape elements and locate the
public building in a global and coherent city entrance project.
The City approved
this idea and organized a competition for the landscape layout around
the Tourist information Center that we won it in July 2007.
