Marie, Johan and their daughter Clara compose the Chupin’s
family. Their house they live in now is quite tight: it’s
2,60m wide and measures only 49 sqm. As Mrs Chupin has trouble walking,
the house becomes impracticable. The program requires that the future
house must be accessible to a person on a wheel chair.
The project is developed on 3 storeys: on the ground floor there
is the garage, the entrance leading to a bathroom, the crossing
living-cooking room and Marie’s office. The double height
living room is interrupted by an overhanging footbridge. In addition
to the staircase there is an elevator to access the second floor.
The north and the south terraces visually enlarge the living room
and create an interior/exterior continuity.
