1.1
VIEW POINT
Our aim is to extend the urban park by creating a 9 meter
high elevated pedestrian walk way which will provide a bypass
over the existing port activities and offer the pass-by to
fully appreciate the surrounding landscape.
1.2 SUPERSTRUCTURE AT PORT SCALE
The mutation of this piece of land questions the reconversion
of the existing industrial buildings which where formally
design as storage. Those superstructures are part of Havre’s
local history some of which are of historical signifi cant
importance.
Our project proposes as well new superstructures which can
communicate
with the existing organized around a public use focus.
1.3 NEW CITY FACE
The Havre always has several example of ambitious architecture
such as Perret, Niemeyer or Jean Nouvel this is why we considerate
important that the new district of l’Eure can reveal
it’s new face to residents, visitors and investors.
In our project towers crown the superstructures on the quay
side, feet into the water, supporting the stayed pedestrian.
1-CONCEPTUAL
APPROACH
The study site is located between the city terrain and the port
terrain. The question is whether or not the traditional city should
divide the blocks or if it’s possible to design a city on
a piece of land which was formally used for port activities.
